Подростковое лето - Торонто

Моей в этом году 15. Во-первых, она поняла что ей надо иметь хороший опыт работы для поступления в университет. Пока остановилась на вожатой в лагере, но это с 16 лет. А в 14-15 лет есть в этих же лагерях counselor-in-training программы. Вот мы с ней выбрали лагерь дневной, в которомы бы она потом хотела работать и записали ее на эту программу.
Из лагерей с ночевкой для подростков очень рекомендую http://www.olympiasportscamp.com/ Именно такой лагерь для детей постарше, большой, веселый, спортивный. Места очень красивые! Там озера...
А остальное время моя дочь в дневном лагере от своего клуба фехтования. Кстати, может быть кому интересно будет попробовать этот спорт. Как раз его начинают в районе 14 лет.

Я думаю что подобные лагеря есть при разных спортивных школах, при театрах и студиях.

Огромное спасибо, Ольга. Как всегда очень информативно:-) Наверное олимпийский лагерь интереснее всего. Остальные, поскольку дневные - далековато нам для ежедневных поездок.

А вы ваш комьюнити журнал не проверяли? Я прошлась, там мне показалось много интересного, например leadership program для подростков. Ищите разделы preteens & teens. Еще мне понравились дроп-ин програмы по разным видам спорта, рядом с домом, дитя само может добраться, если ему надо конечно.

В нашем центре ничего интересного. Буду шерстить окрестности :-)

Оля, а вам не страшно было бы отпускать дочку в лагерь с ночевкой в таком возрасте? Я может, паникерша, но я как-то боюсь. Я уверена в своей дочери, но за чужих... совершенно нет. Тем более там действует уже другая психология, когда мам с папами нет рядом.
Лучше уж дневной.

Зависит, как дите подготовлено. Моя ездит в overnight лагеря с 7 лет и всегда с удовольствием. Есть правда нюанс - есть еще старшенький. Малая, конечно, кричит, что он ей только мешает,но, думаю, это тоже облегчило ей первые разы. По моему опыту, все девчонки обычно бывают неплохо подготовлены для таких лагерей. Единственное, что плохо - в наших пионерских лагерях у детей был хоть час - полтора, пока в автобусах ехали, обзавестись первыми симпатиями и договориться, кто с кем будет тумбочку делить. А тут всех привозят родители и всего на неделю. С кем попал в палатку или на bunkie, с тем и кантуйся. Не всегда proper match бывает.

Да это, конечно, важно, только меня как то пропер матч не очень волнует в дочкиных 14 лет :-) Выглядит на 20, в голове на 10 ;-)

Ну там они живут в домиках на 4-8 человек с вожатым вместе, туалет внутри. Т.е. ночью особо не загуляешь.
Но я в принципе об этом и не думалю, за свою дочь спокойна. Да и думаю что такие вещи тут продуманы.
Дневной лагерь, если он не учебный или какой-то по интересам для подростков не сильно "круто" :-) Но с другой стороны дороги эти лагеря с ночевками.
Да, есть еще лагеря отдельно для девочек-мальчиков.

Вы рравильно поняли :-) Вам хорошо, а мне сколько головной боли! Я совсем не уверена в своей, у нее сейчас на первом месте мальчики, а остальное на "потом"... На улице мужики шеи сворачивают. Я не ханжа, но как то не хочется, чтобы дочка рано вступила во "взрослую жизнь". Про лагеря только для девочек я слышала, просто вы наверху дали ссылку на спортивный лагерь - там смешано, как я поняла. Но информация все равно полезной была, спасибо.

Так я про спортивный лагерь и отвечаю, что там вожатый в каждом домике. И хотя вожатым самим 18 и чуть больше, но они, как все канадские дети, ответственные очень. Не слышала от дочери, чтобы вожатая сама куда-то испарялась :-) А днем они заняты все время вместе в группе. Так что на танцах могут конечно пообжиматься малек, но не думаю что будет время и возможность на что-то большее.
Считаю вполне безопасным пероприятием :-)

привет:) Я наконец-то сдамся и разрешу ему пойти на работу. Блин, я уже из последних сил оборону держу. Пообещала ему, что как только 8-ой класс закончит, может сразу устраиваться. Так он теперь ждет-не дождется:)

О, привет, сразу не признала :-) Какой он у тебя самостоятельный. Мой тоже не против обрести финансовую независимость, но организационные вопросы опять же на мне, а мне сейчас пардон не до того. Раз сам не инициативничает, значит по моему мнению не дорос.

Я с партнером сейчас пытаюсь сделать программу для детей 12-15 лет по типу наших трудовых лагерей. Идея пришла, пока искала, где бы сыночку мог научиться простыми инструментами работать. На этот год планируем пока дневной лагерь за городом. На будущий год планируем overnight делать.
Ежели кому будет интересно и как только что-то более конкретное у нас появится, поделюсь хоть тут, хоть в лички.

Если бы еще научите уборку делать, посуду мыть, санузел убирать, я первая к вам своего отправлю :)

+ а 2-х если будете брать тодлеров ;-)

А где именно за городом? А в спортивные игры не планируете с ними играть?

Припозднилась я с ответами. Базироваться планируем в районе Барри - транспорт наш. Т.е. с утра деточек забираем, вечером родителям возвращаем. Кормежку планируем свою - детки готовить будут. Несколько лет назад делали программу, так дети под это дело и готовить научились. Пока вроде ориентируемся на подростков. Посмотрим, как пойдет, потом может и мелких добавим. Короче, планов - громадье. Ежели чего пойдет и действительно приблизится к реальности - буду кричать тут:))

Если подростка 13, 5 лет ( девочка) прислать в Торонто почти к родным людям, удастся ее в какой-нибудь лагерь запихать? В ваш например?
Исходные данные- говорит по русски, цель- улучшить английский, руки-крюки, никакими инструментами пользоваться не умеет и не собирается учиться. Время- 6 недель с 29.06, у нас каникулы летние такие.

The SLRI of Mount Sinai Hospital 2010 Summer Research Internship Program

The Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute (SLRI) of Mount Sinai Hospital is offering a summer internship program to expose high school students to the exciting world of scientific research. Students are expected to complete an eight week, full-time period of employment from July to August. Students are required to work on a project in the laboratory and be supervised by a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow. Student interns will be paid $3,333.00 for the work period. Waterloo Unlimited Grade 10 Program

The Deep River Science Academy

The DRSA is a summer science immersion program for Canadian high school students. High school students are assigned a research project with host laboratories to work on real research projects. By the end of the six week program, students write a professional scientific research paper and give an oral presentation which is attended by professional scientists and engineers. For their work, students earn two high school credits. This program is well-suited to students who have a strong interest in science and who have obtained a high school science credit at the Grade 10 level.
